I am considering to buy a GM Tech 2  diagnostic scanner for use with my Saab. Witch one of the ones you offer at your webshop has the best quality and is equipped with the latest software/hardware? Do you also sell USB port converter for the Tech 2?

There are 4 kinds of Tech2 in our website, they are SP23-B3, SP23-B, SP23-C and SP23-1
All of them has the same function, their difference is :
SP23-B is the best quality Tech2 with Black Carry box, best quality more stable
SP23-B3 is the SP23-B best quality tech2 with carton box, also has the best quality
SP23-C is the same like SP23-B, it also including the Black carry box, but comes from another factory.
SP23-1 is the best price one,it is with carton box, will help you save much more money.

In conclusion:
If you wanna best quality and more professional, please can choose SP23-B ,because it has a black carry box.
If you wanna best quality but wanna cheap one, can choose SP23-B3
If you wanna a good quality and also cheaper, please choose SP23-1
The SAAB vehicle you can choose SAAB English card, it is the latest version.
The usb port converter for GM tech2 ? we do not selling it

GM Tech2 “Access to Security Access was denied” solution

A GM Tech 2 scanner with TIS2000 USB key got the error "E324:Access to Security Access was denied".
How to solve this error?
1.Please confirm which function you need to do.
2.If you need do gm key programmer,does not need to connect with tis2000 usb key.
2.If you need SAAB key programming,connect with tis2000 usb key will not work.It only support GM cars key programmer.Suggest you to check other key programmers for SAAB.

GM Tech2 troubleshot Buick Regal Air Conditioner Control Adjustment issue

(1) In summer, when the weather is hot, air conditioning system in automatic control mode, when the temperature is adjusted to a lower temperature value, the cold wind will not bring out instead of hot wind, and air conditioning system control go to trouble mode or protected mode, the cold / warm mixing stay in the position of hot wind.

(2) In winter, when the weather is cold, air conditioning system has no warm wind, t the cold / warm mixing is locked in the position of cold wind.

Possible Reasons:

The air conditioner cold / warm wind door shaft has manufacturing deviation and the software of air conditioning module has poor suitability, the specific reason as follows:

There are two reasons why it has hot wind when the weather is hot:
(1)possible reason one: the C8 pin of air conditioner control module shows signal there is no electronic currency, after the system set trouble codes, the controlling software become fault mode, and command cold / warm mixing wind door stay in the position where blow hot wind. The main reason is there is no electronic currency in the air conditioner circuit or the sliding resistor in the cold / warm wind door electronic motor; besides, cold / warm wind door shaft has hardware production deviation which may cause voltage higher than 4.98V in the process of adjusting and cause the trouble, but at this time, air conditioner system doesn’t set trouble code, because when the air conditioner control module send out command requesting the temperature adjust to the highest, then the voltage is also the highest, at this time air conditioner system is supposed to blow hot wind.

(2) possible reason two: the C8 pin of air conditioner control module feedback the minimum voltage less than 0.35V but not less than 002 V, at this time air conditioner control module doesn’t set trouble codes, the control software go to protected mode, with the rise of automatic control temperature, protected mode will cancel automatically, then in automatic control mode, air conditioner system will produce hot wind not cold wind when the temperature is set to a lower value. But when the temperature is set to a higher value, the control system can work and the manual control mode can work either.

(3) In cold weather it doesn’t blow warm wind, possible reason: When air conditioner control system in automatic control mode, cold / warm wind door electronic motor show voltage signal ground short circuit or voltage value lower than 0.02V, at this time the control software go to trouble mode and set trouble code B0361 (cold / warm wind door is locked in the position of cold), and both the manual mode and automatic mode of air conditioner control module fail to control, only to disconnect power supply can trouble mode be canceled (Note: if it fail to recover, please instantly connect C1 and C7 port)
(2)Improper operation: in short time, the car owner repeatedly press or choose the function buttons on the air conditioner control panel, which cause a disorder of the control module because air conditioner control module receive many other new command before the previous command hasn’t complete execution.

The way to test:
(1) Firstly, connect GM Tech2 scanner(I ordered from www.obdii365.com ) with Buick Regal, and read out current or history trouble codes for air conditioner control module.

(2) Then measure the voltage of air conditioner control module C8 pin, which help the repairman analyze the specific reason. When air conditioner control module in manual mode, C8 pin ideal voltage is 1-4V, if the tested voltage less than 0.35V at minimum, then the control module is likely to disorder, if the voltage is less than 0.02V, then the control module will definitely disorder.

4. Possible solutions:
(1) Under various conditions, if the voltage of air conditioner control module C8pin is not less than 0.35V, please refer to the trouble code information and the user manual to check the circuit or sliding resistor in the cold / warm wind door electronic motor, if there is any fault, troubleshoot it.
(2) Under various conditions, if the voltage of air conditioner control module C8pin is less than 0.35V, then the possible reason is that cold / warm wind door shaft has manufacturing deviation,there are two solutions to solve the problems.
A. Change the air conditioning container body assembly (or change the cold / warm wind door shaft.
B. Adjust the relative position of the sliding resistors passive gear in the cold / warm wind temperature actuator electronic motor, and make C8 pin Voltage in an idea status. Please attention: only the old cold / warm wind temperature actuator can adjust feedback resistor gear, but the new one can’t do.

GM Tech2 TIS2000 Not Run XP Mode On Win7

One of obdii365 client bought the GM Tech2 Scanner and the GM TIS2000 software CD , he message to our customer service that the GM TIS2000 software did not Run In xp Mode On Win7.


"I use a Tech II diagnostic tool or a gm MDI to attach it to the truck, its on a cd / dvd, its a program i got on-line to reprogram GM BCMS in my truck. my problem is I can load 2007 software [its called ”TIS2000] into my computer [it only runs on a ”win xp” machine”][yes it won’t run in xp mode on a win7 machine],but I need the update to 3/2008 or 8/2008,to get it to see my vin#, so I can add power adj pedals[and some other options, I can’t get the 3/2008 to load. ”

Depending on your computer hardware, you could install XP and your app in a Virtual Machine (VM) from Windows 7. Once installed and configured, you would boot your computer like normal and start XP in a window.

VMware makes Virtual Machine software called Workstation v10. They have a trial, but expect money at some point. The second best option for VM software is called VirtualBox from Sun. It is free!
You would just need a compatible computer, a copy of Windows XP and time to learn the ropes and get your XP Virtual Machine (VM) up and running. Learning how to use it is a one-time thing and at that point you’ll be familiar with VM software in general. That is a huge benefit to have as a computer user.

At that point you would meet the requirements of the GM Tech 2 software and would install TIS2000 within the VM and use the virtual com/serial port to connect to your computer serial port (or USB).

Program SAAB Drivers Door Module with GM Tech2

If you want to program the Drivers Door Module (DDM) on your SAAB yourself, you will need a dealer tool, GM Tech2 scanner with TIS2000 software, which can be purchased online to get the job done. My Tech2 scan tool is from a China at the price of $319. If you already have a Tech II, you can follow the step-by-step guide below and get the DDM programmed.

Equipment you will need:
GM Tech 2 diagnostic scanner
TIS2000 software (Without this you would not be able to add anything!)
How to:

Step 1. Connect GM Tech2 to the OBD port of your SAAB and open the scanner and then go to the main menu.
Step 2. Select “F0 Diagnostics” from the main menu.
Step 3. Select the year of your car. Here I select “2004”.
Step 4. Select model of your car. Here I select “SAAB 9-3 Sport (9440)”.
Step 5. Select “F7: Add/ Remove” in the next page.
Step 6. Select”F1: Control Modules”.
Step 7. Select “DDM” control module in the next page.
Step 8. Select “Add”.
Step 9. Select “Checking Security Access Working” and then turn ignition key to “ON” position.
Step 10. Select “Adding Unit”. Wait the system process to 100% and then drive a test.

GM MDI/GM Tech 2 reset ECM Engine Control Module

This is step-by-step instruction on how to do engine control module recovery on Cadillac cars.
modules tested successfully with the tools and guide below:

Diagnostic tool:

GM Tech 2 scanner

Engine control module recovery procedure:
1. Disconnect the programming device.
2. Power down the control modules connected to the GM LAN bus by disconnecting the positive battery cable for 2 minutes.
3. Reconnect the positive battery cable.
4. Determine which programming device will be used to perform the recovery steps.
If using MDI, connect to the programming station or Notebook using a cable (LAN). Proceed to Step 5 and then Steps 6-8.
If using a Tech 2 proceed to Steps 6-8.
5. Reboot the programming station or Notebook. This is to make sure nothing is in memory.
OBD2 Note: Selecting Replace and Reprogram from the Select Diagnostic Tool and Process Screen is REQUIRED because some of the calibrations may be erased from the initial attempt to reprogram the module.
6. Reprogram the engine control module. Select Replace and Reprogram from the Select Diagnostic Tooland Process Screen.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the programming event.
8. Clear all DTCs using the GM Tech 2 or GDS.
